“Our mission is to create an Australian research alliance to define, drive and deliver excellence in brain cancer research that will improve the lives of brain cancer patients worldwide.”

— ABCARA DIRECTORSHIP

ABCARA was founded in 2021 with a key focus to increase involvement of translational scientists in clinical studies for brain cancer. This national research collaboration was launched in partnership with the Cooperative Trials Group for Neuro-Oncology (COGNO), with it’s inaugural Research Symposium in 2021.

Making breakthroughs for brain cancer patients requires a collaborative national research effort to expand our technological and human infrastructure in this area, drive a comprehensive agenda for impactful research and crucially, translate these findings to trial.

The ABCARA Directorship and it’s Program Leads contribute their expertise from the fields of immunology, drug discovery, genetic models, artificial intelligence, biomarker research, heterogeneity, imaging and radiation oncology.
